Israel has confirmed that Yahya Sinwar, the top leader of Hamas in Gaza and the architect of the October 7 attacks, has been killed by Israeli forces. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced that Sinwar was eliminated during a military operation in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday night. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) officially confirmed his death on Thursday evening, stating that Sinwar was responsible for planning and executing the attacks on October 7 and had been a target of a year-long pursuit.
