Delhi High Court Dismisses Kejriwal's Plea Against CBI Arrest and Remand in Excise Policy Case
Aug 5, 2024, 09:16 AM
The Delhi High Court has dismissed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest and remand by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. The court upheld the validity of the CBI's arrest, stating that it could not be said the arrest was without justifiable reason. Kejriwal was advised to move the trial court for bail. Following the decision, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced that Kejriwal would approach the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court's order. Sanjeev Nasiar, head of AAP's legal cell, and CBI's special public prosecutor Advocate DP Singh commented on the case.
