Yemeni Houthis Claim High-Precision Zulfiqar Missile Strike on Israeli Defense Ministry in Jaffa, Evading Defense Systems
Jan 18, 2025, 01:21 PM
The Yemeni Armed Forces, led by the Houthi group, have claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack targeting what they describe as the Israeli Defense Ministry in the occupied area of Jaffa, near Tel Aviv. The attack was carried out using a 'Zulfiqar' missile, and according to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the missile struck its target with high precision, evading Israeli defense systems. This operation was part of a broader series of retaliatory actions against Israeli and US targets, which included four cruise missile strikes on vital targets in Eilat, three drone attacks on targets in Jaffa and Ashkelon, and an assault on the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea. These actions are in response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza and perceived aggression against Yemen.
