14 Ghanaians Tricked into Russia, Held in Military Camp in Ukraine
Sep 20, 2024, 05:41 PM
Fourteen Ghanaian men who migrated to Russia in August 2024 under the pretense of obtaining jobs in the agricultural sector have been captured and are now being held in a Russian military camp in occupied Donetsk, Ukraine. These individuals were reportedly tricked into signing contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry and are now being threatened with deployment to the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine war. Local publications 3News and GhanaWeb have reported that eleven of the men have already disappeared without a trace. The young men claim they are being held illegally and have appealed for help, citing fake job promises.
