Zelensky Appoints Drapatyi as Ukraine's Ground Forces Commander, Names Apostol Deputy
Nov 29, 2024, 03:13 PM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Drapatyi, previously responsible for the defense in the Kharkiv direction, has been recognized for his successful military operations against Russian forces. His appointment was announced on November 29, following his notable actions in Mariupol in 2014, where he led a breakthrough on an infantry fighting vehicle through a separatist checkpoint. Colonel Oleh Apostol has been appointed as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief.
