U.S. Army Private First Class Cole Bridges, also known as Cole Gonzales, 24, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempting to assist the Islamic State (ISIS) in conducting a deadly ambush on U.S. troops, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Bridges had pleaded guilty to charges of providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and attempting to murder U.S. military service members. The sentencing took place in the Southern District of New York.
