ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has filed a lawsuit against a former intern, identified as Tian, for allegedly tampering with code and sabotaging the company's internal AI model training. The case has been formally accepted by the Haidian District People's Court in Beijing. ByteDance is seeking damages of approximately $1.1 million, which includes 8 million yuan for infringement losses and an additional 20,000 yuan for reasonable expenses. The company also demands a public apology from Tian. This legal action highlights the growing concerns over data security and corporate accountability in the tech industry, particularly in relation to AI development.
