Apr 30, 2024, 03:12 PM
On Tuesday, eight major U.S. newspapers owned by Alden Global Capital, including the Chicago Tribune and New York Daily News, filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI in the Southern District of New York. The newspapers accuse the tech giants of illegally using millions of copyrighted articles without permission to train their generative artificial intelligence products, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT. This legal action adds to a similar case previously filed by The New York Times against both companies.
