VisitRussia Returns Six Ukrainian Children, Aged 6 to 17, in Qatar-Brokered Deal
May 22, 2024, 10:37 AM
Russia has returned six children, aged between 6 and 17, including two brothers, to Ukraine in a deal brokered by Qatar. The transfer took place at the Qatari embassy in Moscow. This marks the latest effort in a series of operations facilitated by Qatar to reunite Ukrainian children with their families. Since July 2023, Qatar has played a significant role in bringing back scores of Ukrainian children who were taken to Russia and occupied territories during the war. Russia's Children's Ombudswoman, Maria Lvova-Belova, confirmed the successful mediation, noting that 70 children have already been reunited with their relatives during the special military operation.
