Putin Updates Nuclear Doctrine, Broadens Conditions for Nuclear Response Against Military Blocs
Nov 19, 2024, 08:22 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree approving an updated nuclear deterrence policy, potentially allowing broader use of nuclear weapons. The new doctrine states that any attack on Russia by a member of a military bloc will be considered as aggression by the entire bloc. Additionally, aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, with the participation or support of a nuclear state, will be regarded as a joint attack on Russia.
