Russian Air Defense Intercepts Ukrainian Drones Targeting Leningrad Region, Including Ust-Luga Seaport

Russian air defense forces in the Leningrad region successfully intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones targeting the area around Luga Bay in the Gulf of Finland. The attacks, which occurred over the course of January 4, 2025, involved at least three drones, with the regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirming that no damage or casualties resulted from these incidents. Additionally, the Ust-Luga seaport, a major commercial hub in the Leningrad region, was reportedly targeted by drones, with some sources alleging that one drone managed to hit the port's oil terminal despite claims from local authorities that all drones were shot down. The Ust-Luga port, located approximately 860 km from the Ukrainian border, serves as a logistics hub and was previously struck about a year ago.
