The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the largest in the United States, has agreed to pay $880 million to settle sexual abuse claims made by 1,353 alleged victims dating back to the 1940s. This settlement is the largest single child sexual abuse agreement with a Catholic archdiocese, bringing the cumulative payouts over the last two decades to more than $1.5 billion.
