Elon Musk Withdraws Lawsuit Against OpenAI, Sam Altman, and Greg Brockman in California
Jun 11, 2024, 09:00 PM
Elon Musk has withdrawn his lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman. The lawsuit, filed in California state court, accused OpenAI of abandoning its original mission of developing artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity and instead prioritizing profits. The court filing did not provide a reason for the dismissal. Musk had also accused OpenAI of breaching a founding promise and fiduciary duty. The case was dismissed without prejudice, allowing for the possibility of refiling in the future. The lawsuit also named OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and challenged the company's relationship with Microsoft. The suit was originally filed in February.
