Pope Francis has received his first fully electric Popemobile from Mercedes-Benz, marking a significant step toward sustainability for the Vatican. The vehicle, a modified pearl-white G-Class SUV, was developed in close cooperation with the Vatican to meet the specific needs of the Pope, including special places for the Swiss Guards. Mercedes-Benz has been supplying vehicles to the Vatican for nearly 100 years, and this latest emission-free model underscores the Pope's commitment to environmental stewardship. The all-electric Popemobile, which will debut during the Jubilee in 2025, features a heated rotating seat and a retractable roof, allowing the pontiff to greet pilgrims during public appearances such as those in St. Peter's Square.
