Maharashtra CM Shinde Wins by Over 120,000 Votes as Mahayuti Secures Landslide Victory
Nov 23, 2024, 08:36 AM
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has won from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency in Thane, leading by a margin of 120,717 votes. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, comprising the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) factions, is set for a landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. Shiv Sena workers and party leaders celebrated outside Shinde's residence in Mumbai, with festivities including the distribution of 'ladoos'. Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar joined Shinde in addressing the media, expressing gratitude to voters and declaring that the Mahayuti would form the government. Fadnavis was felicitated at the BJP office in Mumbai, where party leaders, including Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Bhupendra Yadav, celebrated the alliance's victory. Shinde stated, 'This is a landslide victory. I had said before that Mahayuti will get a thumping victory.'
