Waymo Robotaxis Now Open to All in 80-Square-Mile Area of LA

Waymo, Alphabet Inc.'s autonomous vehicle unit, has expanded its robotaxi service to all residents of Los Angeles, allowing anyone to hail a ride through the Waymo One app. This expansion covers an 80-square-mile area from downtown LA to Santa Monica. Previously, access to the service was limited to those on a waitlist, which had grown to over 300,000 people. The service operates 24/7, providing fully electric, driverless rides similar to Uber and Lyft, but without a driver in the seat.
