May 6, 2024, 03:24 AM
Recent reports have highlighted a significant increase in the number of Chinese nationals illegally crossing the U.S. southern border. In the first six months of fiscal year 2024 alone, 24,200 Chinese nationals were apprehended, a dramatic rise from just 323 in the entirety of fiscal year 2021, marking a 14,000% increase. Many of these individuals are described as military-aged males. This surge includes instances where more Chinese nationals were apprehended in just two days than throughout the entire previous fiscal year, and over 200 Chinese migrants were apprehended in one sector in a single week. Concerns have been raised about the potential security threats posed by these crossings, with some experts fearing acts of sabotage. Additionally, there are reports of Chinese nationals using Mexican identification documents to facilitate their entry.
