Victor Martinez-Hernandez Arrested 10 Months After Rape and Murder of Maryland Mother Rachel Morin
Jun 15, 2024, 09:09 PM
Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, has been arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five from Maryland. Morin was found dead near a hiking trail in August 2023. Martinez-Hernandez, who illegally entered the U.S. in February 2023 after allegedly committing a murder in El Salvador, is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape. Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler announced the arrest and criticized current border policies, stating, "We are 1,800 miles from the border." The family of Rachel Morin has been informed of the arrest, and law enforcement has been commended for their efforts in apprehending the suspect, which came 10 months after the crime.
