TfL Seizes Over 1,400 Vehicles from Ulez Charge Evaders, Raises £25.6 Million
Oct 16, 2024, 01:09 PM
Transport for London (TfL) has seized more than 1,400 vehicles from drivers who refused to pay the Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) charges over the past 12 months. Bailiffs have been involved in the enforcement, resulting in the removal of 1,429 cars by the end of July. Over half of these vehicles have been sold at auction, generating £25.6 million in income from unpaid debts. The London Assembly has urged Mayor Sadiq Khan to intensify efforts to recover the outstanding fines, which have accumulated to £376 million. The Ulez, also known as the clean air levy, aims to reduce pollution in London.
