Giants Rookies Nabers and Tracy Each Surpass 1,000 Yards, Third Rookie Duo in NFL History
Dec 29, 2024, 06:29 PM
New York Giants rookies Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. each surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage this season during Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, becoming the third rookie duo in NFL history to achieve this milestone. Tracy Jr., a former Purdue running back, broke off a 40-yard run early in the first quarter to reach 1,033 scrimmage yards, leading the team with 17 runs of 10 or more yards this season. Nabers, a wide receiver, followed with a 31-yard touchdown reception on a screen pass during a third-and-14 play, bringing his season totals to 98 receptions for 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. Nabers is only the second Giants rookie to reach 1,000 receiving yards, following Odell Beckham Jr. The last rookie teammates to each surpass 1,000 scrimmage yards were Reggie Bush and Marques Colston with the New Orleans Saints in 2006. Nabers' touchdown gave the Giants a 7-3 lead over the Colts.
