He was cleared of carrying out a bomb hoax. Khalife had claimed he wanted to be a double agent to help British intelligence services, but prosecutors described his actions as a 'cynical game' that posed a significant threat to national security. In September 2023, he escaped from Wandsworth Prison under a catering truck, prompting a three-day manhunt before he was recaptured.
