USDA Recalls Over 83 Tons of Ground Beef Due to E. coli, Illnesses Reported
Nov 21, 2024, 05:02 PM
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a nationwide recall of approximately 83.5 tons of ground beef due to potential contamination with E. coli. The beef products, which were shipped to restaurants across the country, were produced by Detroit-based Wolverine Packing Co. This recall follows reports of illnesses linked to the consumption of the contaminated beef. The recall affects about 167,277 pounds of beef products, and consumers are advised to check with their local restaurants to ensure the beef they are consuming is not part of the recalled batch.
