Jan 22, 2025, 05:44 PM
Filmmaker Robert Eggers, known for his work on 'Nosferatu,' is set to direct 'Werwulf,' a new werewolf horror movie for Focus Features. The film, co-written by Eggers and Sjón, his collaborator on 'The Northman,' is slated for a Christmas Day 2026 release. 'Werwulf' will be set in 13th century England, featuring dialogue in Old English to accurately reflect the time period. Initially planned to be filmed in black and white, the movie will now be in color. Eggers and Sjón will produce the film alongside Focus Features, with Chris and Eleanor Columbus serving as executive producers. The project follows the success of 'Nosferatu,' which grossed over $156 million worldwide and was also released on Christmas Day.
