Speaking in North Carolina while surveying Hurricane Helene damage, Trump remarked that there would be no tariffs on Canada if it joined the U.S. He referred to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as "Governor Trudeau" and emphasized that the U.S. already takes care of Canada's military. "They wouldn't have to worry about many things," Trump said, expressing confidence that Canadians would support the idea if it were explained to them.
