Trump Deploys 1,500 Troops Including Marines to U.S.-Mexico Border, Plans to Add Over 10,000 with Stryker Vehicles

President Donald Trump has initiated a significant military deployment to the U.S.-Mexico border, following his executive order to address illegal immigration. Approximately 1,500 active-duty troops have begun arriving in Texas and California, with the first wave landing in El Paso and San Diego. The deployment includes members of the U.S. Marine Corps, who are assisting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in securing the border. The White House has released footage of the Marines at work, emphasizing their role in fulfilling Trump's promise to secure the border. Additionally, the U.S. Army has started installing razor wire along the southern border as part of these efforts. The Pentagon is also preparing to send more than 5,000 additional troops from high-profile units like the 82nd Airborne Division and the 10th Mountain Division, along with 20-ton Stryker combat vehicles, to further enhance border security. This move is part of a broader strategy to combat illegal immigration and could see the total number of troops at the border rise to over 10,000.
