President Donald Trump is preparing to deploy 10,000 troops to the southern border of the United States as part of efforts to address illegal immigration and bolster border security. According to official documents and reports, Border Patrol agents have been directed to deny entry to asylum seekers who have traveled through countries with communicable diseases. This move follows a declared national emergency at the border and comes alongside other measures, such as the resumption of border wall construction and plans to expand detention facilities. The deployment will supplement the 19,000 Border Patrol agents already stationed at the border, with 1,500 troops already deployed and additional support from the Pentagon, including drones and other resources. Mike Banks, the new head of Border Patrol, will oversee the implementation of these policies.
