Rwanda-Backed M23 Rebels Seize Goma, Vow March to Kinshasa

M23 rebels, allegedly backed by Rwanda, have taken control of the key eastern city of Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo and declared their intention to march on the capital, Kinshasa. Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi has called for national mobilization, urging citizens to enlist in the army, and promised a 'vigorous response' to the invasion. Angola's President Joao Lourenco has called for the immediate withdrawal of Rwandan forces from the DRC and urged an urgent summit to address the escalating conflict.
