Pentagon Removes Milley's Portrait 10 Days After Unveiling
Jan 20, 2025, 07:56 PM
Shortly after President Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, the Pentagon removed the portrait of General Mark Milley, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, from its hallway outside the Chairman's office. The portrait had been unveiled just ten days earlier, on January 12, during a ceremony overseen by former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. The removal is unusual, as portraits of former Chairmen typically remain on display. The Pentagon has not provided an official explanation for the action.
