Ichiro Suzuki has been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, becoming the first Japanese and Asian player to receive this honor. Suzuki, who played most of his career with the Seattle Mariners, received 99.7% of the votes, falling just one vote short of unanimous selection.
