On December 14, 2024, at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico, French boxer Bruno Surace, 26, delivered a stunning upset by knocking out Mexican boxer Jaime Munguía in the sixth round. Munguía, fighting in his hometown, was heavily favored and had never been stopped in over 45 professional fights. The bout began with Munguía dominating the early rounds, including a knockdown of Surace in the second round with a powerful left hook. Surace, who entered the fight with an unbeaten record of 25-0-2 and only four knockouts, displayed resilience and gradually gained momentum. In the sixth round, Surace landed a decisive right hand that knocked out Munguía, handing the Mexican his first career knockout loss.
