The announcement comes after McGregor was found liable for sexual assault in a civil court case, though he maintains his innocence and plans to appeal the decision. McGregor has not fought in the UFC since injuring his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, and he withdrew from a scheduled fight with Michael Chandler due to a broken toe.
