President Joe Biden, 82, stated in an interview published Wednesday with USA Today that he believes he could have defeated Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election if he had remained in the race, citing polling data. "It's presumptuous to say that, but I think yes," Biden said when asked if he could have won. However, he expressed uncertainty about his ability to serve another term due to his age, acknowledging concerns about his stamina. When asked if he had the vigor to serve until age 86, he responded, "I don't know. Who the hell knows? So far, so good." Biden admitted, "I wasn't looking to be president when I was 85 years old," reflecting on his decision not to seek re-election. The president's remarks come as he prepares to leave office, having endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost to Trump in the election.
