This move, confirmed by sources familiar with the matter, indicates Bitwise's interest in expanding its ETF offerings to include the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin ($DOGE). The registration, which occurred on January 22, 2025, through CSC Delaware Trust Company in Wilmington, is seen as a preparatory step rather than an official ETF filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Bitwise, managing over $12 billion in crypto assets, has previously filed for ETFs related to other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, signaling a broader strategy to offer institutional crypto investment products.
