Brazilian actor and director Ney Latorraca died at the age of 80 on December 26, 2024, in Rio de Janeiro. He passed away at 6:22 am at Clínica São Vicente in Gávea due to pulmonary sepsis, following complications from prostate cancer. Latorraca had been hospitalized since December 20. With a career spanning over 50 years in television, theater, and cinema, he was renowned for his roles in productions such as "Vamp", where he played the vampire Vlad, and "TV Pirata", featuring the character Barbosa. Latorraca was a prominent figure in Brazilian culture, known for his charisma and talent that marked generations. He had a lifelong contract with Rede Globo and was in a relationship with Edi Botelho for nearly 30 years.
