Gabriel Bortoleto has been crowned the 2024 Formula 2 Champion after finishing second in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Brazilian driver, representing Invicta Racing, secured the title in his rookie season, following a back-to-back championship win in Formula 3 the previous year. Bortoleto's championship victory was sealed when his main rival, Isack Hadjar, stalled on the grid, allowing Bortoleto to clinch the title with a comfortable points lead. His achievement marks him as the first driver since Oscar Piastri (2020-21) to win consecutive titles in F3 and F2. Bortoleto will now advance to Formula 1 with Sauber in 2025.
