Sergio Pérez Departs Red Bull; Liam Lawson to Replace Him in 2025

Red Bull Racing has officially announced that Sergio Pérez will leave the team after four seasons, despite having a contract until 2026. The Mexican driver and the team have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2024 season. During his tenure with Red Bull, Pérez secured five victories, 29 podiums, one pole position, and accumulated 932 points. He was the championship runner-up in 2023 and finished third in 2022. This season, Pérez finished eighth in the championship standings, 285 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen. Team Principal Christian Horner expressed gratitude for Pérez's contributions, stating that he will always be a cherished part of Red Bull's history. Liam Lawson, the 22-year-old New Zealander from Red Bull's sister team, is expected to replace Pérez starting in 2025.
