Apple and Sony Partner to Enhance Vision Pro with PSVR2 Controllers
Dec 8, 2024, 03:05 PM
Apple Inc. is reportedly working with Sony Group Corp. to integrate PlayStation VR2 hand controllers into its Apple Vision Pro platform, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This collaboration aims to address the Vision Pro's limitations in precise input, enhancing both gaming and productivity applications. The partnership would allow the Vision Pro to support third-party VR hand controllers, potentially bringing more gaming and other apps to the platform. Apple has also sold fewer than 500,000 units of the Vision Pro, suggesting the need for such enhancements to boost its appeal. The announcement of this partnership was planned weeks ago, but the rollout has been postponed.
