Apple and Sony Partner to Bring PSVR2 Controllers to Vision Pro, Addressing Input Limitations
Dec 8, 2024, 02:38 PM
Apple Inc. and Sony Group Corp. are reportedly in discussions to bring PlayStation VR2 hand controller support to the Apple Vision Pro headset, as reported in Mark Gurman's 'Power On' newsletter. The collaboration aims to enhance gaming and productivity on the Vision Pro by addressing the device's limitations in precise input. By supporting third-party hand controllers in its visionOS software, Apple seeks to attract more gaming and other apps to its platform. Apple has also explored developing its own controllers. The partnership may lead to PSVR2 controllers being sold standalone in Apple's online and retail stores.
