United States Space Force, Established by President Trump, Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

The United States Space Force (USSF) celebrated its fifth anniversary on December 20, 2024. Established on December 20, 2019, as the first new military branch in 72 years and the sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, the USSF has been dedicated to securing the nation's interests in space. The personnel, known as Guardians, continue to ensure the U.S. remains secure and leads in the space domain. Various government officials and organizations acknowledged the milestone, expressing appreciation for the Guardians' service. Former Vice President Mike Pence highlighted President Donald Trump's role in signing the bill that established the USSF, calling it one of the greatest honors of his career. The Department of Defense commended the USSF for five years of innovation, exploration, and dedication to protecting U.S. interests in space, and encouraged continued collaboration to "reach for the stars together." The USSF's motto, "Semper Supra" (Always Above), reflects its commitment to pioneering advancements and ensuring America's leadership in space capabilities.
