The deal, which includes a club option and is pending a physical that is reportedly completed, bolsters the Blue Jays' lineup with a power-hitting switch-hitter. Santander, who hit 44 home runs for the Baltimore Orioles last season, was one of the top free agents on the market and the last remaining free agent with a potential first-round compensatory pick attached to his name. His addition provides the Blue Jays with a formidable middle of the order, pairing him with stars Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. The Orioles will receive the 31st pick in the 2025 MLB Draft as compensation for losing Santander.
