Dec 5, 2024, 11:56 AM
Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been indicted by an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi on charges related to the attacks on military installations, including the General Headquarters (GHQ), during protests in May 2023 following his arrest on corruption charges. Khan, 72, who faces 76 cases in Islamabad, pleaded not guilty to the charges of inciting his supporters to attack military buildings. Alongside Khan, 60 senior leaders of his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, former law minister Raja Basharat, PTI leader Zartaj Gul Wazir, and Omar Ayub, were also indicted and arrested in the GHQ attack case.
