Italy's Tourism Minister Daniela Santanchè to Stand Trial on March 20 with 17 Defendants in Visibilia Case
Jan 17, 2025, 11:54 AM
Italy's Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, has been ordered to stand trial for alleged false accounting related to the Visibilia case. The decision was made by Judge Anna Magelli in Milan, who set the trial date for March 20. Santanchè, who founded Visibilia before divesting her shares to Wip Finance through Athena Pubblicità, is accused of falsifying financial statements between 2016 and 2022 to conceal losses and maintain the company's operations. The charges stem from an investigation initiated by minority shareholders, including financier Giuseppe Zeno, who claimed irregularities in the management of the company. The trial will involve 17 defendants, including Santanchè's partner Dimitri Kunz, her sister Fiorella Garnero, and her niece Silvia Garnero, along with Visibilia Srl in liquidation, Visibilia Editore spa, and Visibilia Editrice srl. The accusations against Santanchè for the years 2016 to 2018 have been declared time-barred.
