US Supreme Court Clears Extradition of 26/11 Mumbai Attack Accused Tahawwur Rana to India
Jan 25, 2025, 04:31 AM
The US Supreme Court has approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a Pakistani-Canadian businessman and former Pakistani Army personnel accused of involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, to India. The court denied Rana's petition for a writ of certiorari, dismissing his last legal challenge against extradition. Rana, who has been held in a Los Angeles prison, is accused of assisting David Headley, a Pakistani-American terrorist, in providing support to Lashkar-e-Taiba, including helping Headley open an immigration firm in Mumbai that was used as a cover for reconnaissance missions. He is also alleged to have provided a blueprint of the attack to the militant group.
