Illegal Alien Juan Sierra-Leyva Arrested in LA After Arson Suspicion; ICE Detainer May Be Ignored
Jan 13, 2025, 02:12 AM
Authorities have detained a man, identified as Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva, near the Kenneth Fire in West Hills, California. Sierra-Leyva, an illegal alien from Mexico, was found carrying a blowtorch and was subdued by local residents before being arrested by police. Residents accused him of attempting to start fires in the area. He has been taken into custody on a probation violation but has not been charged with arson. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer request on him with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. However, due to California's sanctuary state laws, the detainer is not expected to be honored.
