Mathias Pogba Sentenced to Prison for Attempted €13 Million Extortion and Kidnapping of Brother Paul

Mathias Pogba, the brother of France footballer Paul Pogba, has been sentenced by a Paris court to three years in prison, with one year to serve under home detention and two years suspended, for his role in the extortion and sequestration of his brother in 2022. He was also fined 20,000 euros. Mathias Pogba was convicted of organized extortion and attempted extortion after participating in the kidnapping and intimidation of Paul Pogba to obtain 13 million euros. Five other men, described as Paul Pogba's childhood friends, were also sentenced to prison terms ranging from two to eight years.
