Novak Djokovic, 24-Time Grand Slam Champion, Claims Lead and Mercury Poisoning in 2022 Australian Detention
Jan 10, 2025, 05:12 AM
Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, has claimed that he was 'poisoned' by lead and mercury in his food while detained in Melbourne in 2022. In an interview with GQ, he stated that he experienced health issues upon returning to Serbia after his brief detention. Djokovic was held in a hotel used for asylum seekers during his visa cancellation saga, which occurred because of his refusal to be vaccinated against Covid-19. He believes the food he consumed there was contaminated, leading to high levels of heavy metals in his system. Australia's Department of Home Affairs declined to comment on the matter, citing privacy reasons.
