Wayne Osmond, Brother of Donny and Marie, Dies at 73; Family 'Will Miss Him Dearly'
Jan 2, 2025, 11:56 PM
Wayne Osmond, a singer, guitarist, and founding member of the million-selling family act The Osmonds, has died peacefully at age 73 in Salt Lake City. Wayne was the fourth oldest of nine children and brother to Donny and Marie Osmond. The Osmonds rose to fame in the 1970s with hits such as “One Bad Apple,” “Yo-Yo,” “Down By the Lazy River,” and "Crazy Horses." His death on Wednesday night was confirmed by a family spokesperson, who stated that the family "will miss him dearly." Donny Osmond paid tribute to his brother, saying, “Wayne brought so much light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him, especially me.” Wayne Osmond had previously overcome a near-fatal brain tumor in 1997 after collapsing onstage. Following his death, he was honored with a bittersweet Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. His family stated, “His legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world.”
