Dominique Pelicot, 72, has been found guilty of aggravated rapes against his ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot, by the Vaucluse criminal court in Avignon. In the high-profile Mazan rapes trial involving 51 accused individuals, Pelicot was convicted of drugging and raping his ex-wife and inviting dozens of strangers to rape her over nearly a decade. He was also found guilty of attempted rape and sexual offenses against another woman, as well as crimes against his daughter and stepdaughter. The co-accused were declared guilty of gang rapes. The verdicts were delivered after more than four months of proceedings and three days of deliberations, with sentences to be announced at a later time.
