On December 19, 2024, in a historic trial known as the 'Mazan rapes', the Court of Vaucluse in Avignon found Dominique Pelicot guilty of aggravated rape of his ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot. Over nearly a decade, Pelicot drugged his wife, filmed the assaults, and orchestrated her abuse by dozens of strangers in their home in Mazan.
