MicroStrategy has acquired an additional 11,000 bitcoins for $1.1 billion in January 2025, according to a recent SEC filing. The purchase was made at an average price of approximately $101,191 per bitcoin. To fund the acquisition, MicroStrategy sold 3 million shares, raising $1.1 billion. The company has achieved a BTC yield of 1.69% year-to-date in 2025. This latest acquisition brings the company's total bitcoin holdings to 461,000 BTC, acquired at an aggregate purchase price of $29.3 billion, averaging $63,610 per bitcoin. MicroStrategy now holds bitcoin worth approximately $48.1 billion, with an unrealized profit of about $19 billion. The company continues its strategy of accumulating bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset.
